Theresa actually was introduced to Physie at the early age of 2yrs when in a stroller while her mother was teaching. Her love of music/physie was resolved and she was included in the “Tinnies” class and 50+ years later is still enjoying being a part of PHYSIE.
During her early years Theresa was successful in many team and champion girl events held in Sydney and as her physie career developed and moved in to seniors she decided trained to become an Associate Instructress attending Eastwood & Balgowlah Clubs in Sydney.
Theresa settled in Ballina in 1982 and became a registered Instructress with Ballina Physie (with her mum, Miriam) for many years and her brilliant competence and quality teaching in a highly successful manner in all age groups was acclaimed including ladies classes.
During her many years of teaching her pupils successfully competed at Grand Nationals held at Sydney Opera house then Homebush Sports Centre for juniors & ladies in Champion girl/ladies competitions.
Not only individual sections, however Team sections were her favorite as not only one medal gained but 8 pupils in the team also received one.
On numerous occasions with her teams, judges commented that her winning teams were “DREAM TEAMS” with so much strength, accuracy and obviously enjoying their physie.
Actually one of her favorite sayings was:
“NOTHING WORTH ACHIEVING WAS EVER EASY, BUT WHEN YOU GET THROUGH IT SUCCESSFULLY IT’S A GREAT FEELING”
